Moin, moin,
whenever you hear this kind welcome greeting you know that you’ve arrived in East Frisia, a region which is crossed by numerous channels and protected from high tides and floodwaters by dykes. You’ll be able to find rest and relaxation in our privately conducted four star hotel which is located in Hinte, a calm place in immediate proximity to the seaside town Emden. No matter if you have the pleasure to visit the lovely cities of Emden, Aurich or Leer businesswise or plan to spend your holiday in East Frisia, you’ll be delighted by the charming landscapes and the inhabitants’ straightforward way of life.
The region alongside the outfall of the river Ems in which Hinte is located is called Krummhörn. This name is composed by the German words “krumm” and “Hörn” and can be loosely translated to mean “crooked corner”. Everyone who went on a cruise through the Krummhörn understands why the inhabitants chose this special name for this lovely region, because it is crossed by an innumerable amount of curves.
You’ll be able to reach the coast of the North Sea, the outfall of the river Ems or the biggest East Frisian inland water, the “Große Meer”, within 30 minutes from out hotel.
We’d love to invite you to experience the special hospitality of East Frisia.
Your open-hearted hosts

11.02. - 17.06.2012 Exhibition Karl Hofer -- Kunsthalle Emden
Karl Hofer (1878 - 1955) is one of the famous individual painters of the 20th century (like Beckmann and Kokoschka). His special interests were the presentation of humans. If he had found an artistic theme, he had been painting the same theme for many years in different variations. The exhibition shows 75 pictures from museums from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but also unknown pictures from private collectors.
